Detail of mixed media painting on cardboard created and signed by the painter Gaetano Pancaldi (1922-2014) with the "frost" technique which consisted of placing a freshly created painting in the cold in order to obtain the effect of superficial "cracks" of the pictorial layer. This technique was created and refined by the Modena artist over the years, so much so that it became one of his distinctive features.
The representation of nature and daily life were among the artist's favorite subjects, whowas very active and well-known in the Modena area due to his activity as a poster designer and the numerous exhibitions he held.A tireless painter, Pancaldi worked with unchanged passion until recent years.
